Camp News

Benton Lindquist and Katherine Boyk will be camp leaders with Rose Vallor this summer. We are going to have a great time with these two! They both bring enthusiasm, outdoor skills, knowledge and passion for the outdoors, and a wealth of fun ideas to camp. Look for their photos and personal info coming soon on the People at BNC page.

Summer Camp Update

Camp is getting closer and spots are filling up. The Bears camp, July 21-25, is nearly full, and the Wolves is a bit more than half full.

Walked up to the meadow on Friday, and it is green, quiet, and still soggy – it was raining at the time! Tadpoles are swimming in the really big puddle by the trail shelter, and the flowers are just coming on. Frisbee golfers were out, and we saw fresh deer prints on the road up.

With the warm weather predicted for this week, it will start to dry out, but be prepared for puddle splashing in camp!

Summer 2014 – Can hardly wait!

Summer at Bohart Ranch – almost too great to be true. Old growth Doug firs, aspen groves, meadows of wildflowers, wild onions, frogs in the warm mud puddles, sparkling clear creeks, elk, moose, wild turkeys….just to name a few of the wonders to see and explore.

Join us for camp July 14-18 and July 21-25

It’s going to be fun!

Took a walk through Bohart the other day….

Sunday I decided to check out Bohart Ranch, so we went for a walk in the afternoon through some of the trails and meadows. The low-lying areas are still boggy, and it was green and lush everywhere. We walked up to Downey’s Butte, one of the high spots above the meadow, and spotted an cow elk with two spotted calves. When the cow saw us she froze, and then strolled silently off into the dense downfall-filled forest. Silently! We spotted her with the two calves a minute or so later, and then all three, silently! disappeared into the woods.

Lots of frisbee golfers out on that fine afternoon, and the wildflowers are thick.

Tadpoles in the puddle by the trail shelter, didn’t see any legs just yet.

See you all in camp in July….
